Supporting charities close to the hearts of our employees.

The Kier Foundation is an independently registered charity that supports both Kier’s charity partner and other charitable causes close to the hearts of our employees and the communities in which we operate.

The Kier Foundation began operating in 2012, with the purpose of offering financial support to charitable bodies throughout the UK. Since its formation, the Kier Foundation has donated more than £3m to charitable causes, thanks to the continued support of our employees.

At Kier, we facilitate employee engagement and involvement with charitable partners, providing support through the Kier Foundation. Part of this is our Payroll Giving, a scheme that allows employees to make donations via a direct deduction from their gross pay.

Charity partnership - Action for Children

In July 2025, we launched our new corporate charity partnership with Action for Children - a charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, young people, and families across the UK.

Action for Children is a charity driven by love – taking action so children don’t miss out on a safe and happy childhood. With over 300 services in communities across the UK, in schools and online, they work on the ground giving children and young people the protection and practical help they urgently need. And they campaign tirelessly for lasting change. In 2024, Action for Children helped over 680,000 vulnerable children, young people and families.

Chosen by Kier colleagues, this partnership will focus on delivering meaningful impact through:

  • Aiming to fundraise £250,000 to support vital services and programmes
  • Volunteering to help deliver community-based initiatives
  • Pro bono support, offering professional skills and practical help to strengthen Action for Children’s reach and resources

Together, we’re committed to helping build brighter futures for children and young people across the UK.

We have charity champions

Our ambassadors support the Kier Foundation charity campaigns, raise funds within the workplace and spread the word throughout the year.

Every two years, we nominate a new charity partner, and in July 2025 we have partnered with Action for Children.
